Blogging 101 and Writing 101 Are Back!

Star Spangled Spectacular Ship Arrivals

The dawn broke over the Chesapeake Bay, greeting many vessels that traveled through the night to arrive this morning at Baltimore’s harbor.

This year is the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 events that happened during the year of 1814 in Baltimore. This week is the Star Spangled Spectacular 200 event which is a week long celebration in the Baltimore Harbor. The “O Say Can You See! Star Spangled Spectacular” honors the 200th anniversary of the National Anthem.

It will be a full week celebration, culminating with the Blue Angels flying over the harbor on the afternoon of Saturday, September 13th and ending with a fantastic fireworks display in the evening which will be broadcasted live on PBS’ Great Performances.

Many of our fans participate in Friday Fotos every week. But we’ve picked up a lot of new fans recently, so we wanted to answer some of the frequently asked questions about this fun activity. We hope you’ll join in!

Q: What is Friday Fotos?
A: Friday Fotos is a collection of photos submitted by Arizona Highways readers and fans. The submissions are based around a theme, which is different from week to week. A selection of submissions is posted every Friday to the Arizona Highways blog.

Q: How do I find out what the theme is?
A: Every Wednesday morning (or thereabouts), we post the theme on our Facebook page. To make sure you’re always up to date, make sure you Like our page.
